In the mountains, ther lived among a family of ibexes, a carefree goat named Walia. 

​

Walia spent her days frolicking in the grass and practicing her jumps, so she could one day scale her mountain home in order to reach the top of the mountain. This feat would mean she would be the first among her herd to do so.

But everyone in her family didn't think she would be able to achieve such a feat.

Her mother said, "It's dangerous"

Her father said, "You're too young"

And her brothers meanly said, "Your a girl! A girl can't do it."

But Walia paid them no mind.

While her her parents were busy looking for grass and her brothers began playfighting, she decided to begin her climb. 

However, she would soon encounter her first obstacle in the form of a wily fox on the hunt.

Walia's "mean" brothers

The fox sneakily crept behind Walia, readying himself to pounce on her. But Walia had already been keeping track of his movments

With two swift jumps across rocky ledge, she put a bit of distance between her and the fox

Mr. Fox attempted the same jump, but he wasn't so lucky and he fell flat on his face, whilst Walia continued on her journey.

Boom!

As if things weren't already tough, a thunderstorm had set in, making the already slippery mountain much more difficult to climb.

It was as if it was telling Walia to "Give up and go home."

But Walia would not be discouraged. She had already come this far. What was one measly storm to her.

Walia's hardwork would soon payoff.

She had reached the peak! She looked down at her home from the edge, relishing the moment before descending back to tell everyone of her adventure.

But before she did so, she made sure to pluck from the ground, a special plant. A plant that only grew on the top of the mountain.

She wanted to show her family (especially her brothers) and herd that she had indeed reached the top and that despite her size, her trials, and her being a girl, that she could do anything she put her mind to. Go Walia!
